By the end of the month I will have done the following things:
N.H.
- Gone through all the N.H MP3’s.
- Make my pledge list.
- Make page with list of key quotes fromĀ MP3’s
WSN
- Go through all links researched so far on WSN
- Research WSN Market
- Update list of things to look at
- Make a plan of areas to go into
WiFi Max
Motes have interesting applications but what will define them is their interaction with defacto standards eg the zigbee alliance and standards set.
Motes key selling point is their size and related sensing capabilities. The fact that they are the size of a 50 pence piece means they provide sensing capabilities for applications that wouldn’t normally be expected.
Power isn’t too much of an issue.. as in most situations when sensing is involved theirs enough power to do things, but motes will prove very useful in a number of scenarios and environments which include:
Wearable computing:
Toys
In walls
servalance
leaks from pipes
Security – tracking people andn products (Though will need to look at survelance already)
Books? – Brainstorm this one….
interaction with RFID
Soil Readings
Earthquake monitoring
Bin Monitor
Sport –
Ball tracking
football / goal posts
Golf balls
In Home environmental monitoring – using zigbee
The Key basic question to ask is:
WHAT IS A MOAT:
A small battery or solar powered sensing unit.
WHAT IS IT’S PRIMARY PURPOSE
To record Sensor readings, be it
Light
Heat
Motion
Humidity
WHAT ARE THE AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT NEEDED:
Record readings
Define normalities and abnormalities
Report back results to higher level sensing unit
Route findings efficiently
If Normalities occur
+ Display them
If abnormalities occur
+ Find them
+ Display them
+ Report on actions that need to be taken to deal with abnormalities
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Radiotelephony.
